The UOC at the EADTU-EU 2026 Summit to drive digital transformation and European collaboration

The UOC reaffirms its commitment to European higher education by participating in the 14th edition of the European Distance Education Summit EADTU-EU 2026, which will take place on 29 April in Brussels.

Under the theme "Leading large-scale transformation: change leadership, AI and the European Degree", the event will focus the debate on how artificial intelligence can support the academic mission, what leadership capacities are needed to drive institutional transformation, and how joint degrees can strengthen cross-border collaboration, among other topics.

The UOC Rector and Vice-President of EADTU, Àngels Fitó, will moderate the closing roundtable with the participation of Mattia Bellotti (Secretary General, EUTOPIA Alliance), Anna Gover (Director, ENQA) and Susanne Conze (European Commission Director for Higher Education). Meanwhile, the UOC Commissioner for International Action and coordinator of the OpenEU alliance, Pastora Martínez Samper, will moderate the panel "Towards the European Degree", featuring Fernando Val (Vice-Rector, UNED), Tamara Ciobanu (European Students' Union) and Mark Frederiks (International Policy Coordinator, NVAO).

This annual summit, organised by the European Association of Distance Teaching Universities (EADTU), the leading network for online, open and distance higher education in Europe, is a networking event for experts and leaders in European higher education. It brings together European organisations, the European Commission, university networks, companies and other stakeholders to discuss the future of higher education in Europe.
